A place of preservation, research and pedagogy
The reserve of Berenty, created in 1936 in the south of Madagascar, was opened to the public in 1981. It has since known an international fame. A reference site for scientists, it is today visited by many visitors, curious to experiment the animal and plant diversity that overflow these 1000 hectares of protected areas. Naturalists trained guides and guards in the environmental management of the reserve. Thus, populations are sensitized and encouraged to protect the fauna and flora of their region in the long term.
An eco-responsible ambition from the start
Without the will of the HAH group, the Berenty reserve would simply not exist and the survival of local species would be threatened.
Berenty is a sanctuary for lemurs, well-known mammals on the island, almost fetishes. Many animal species: reptiles, turtles, birds, bats, etc... are also the joy of travelers. Natural and floristic varieties, such as forests, red sands, bushes, offer a show of incomparable endemic richness.
